LISTEN TO GOD, AND NOT MAN!

Today’s Reading:

1st Samuel 15:34-35; John 10:27.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” (John 10:27‭-‬28 KJV‬‬)‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

In these last days, children of God should cultivate the habit of hearing and heeding to the voice of God. This ensures that you do not make avoidable mistakes or taking wrong decisions based on wrong information.

In John 10:1-5, Jesus gave an analogy of the relationship between a shepherd and his sheep. In those days in Israel, shepherds in a community all keep their sheep in a sheepfold, like an enclosure, at the end of the day. The following morning, with the sheep all lying down, each shepherd comes in and the porter opens the gate for him. He goes into the sheepfold and gives a call sign. Only his sheep will rise because they know his voice and recognise him facially. He turns and walks out, and his sheep follow him. They will not recognise or heed the voice of a stranger.

At each point in our lives, we will be hearing 3 voices:

  1. The voice of God

  2. The voice of the devil

  3. The voice of the flesh.

It is important that you distinctively hear the voice of God, and not the voice of Satan or man (false prophets). In 1Samuel 15:34-35 above, King Saul hearkened to the voice of the flesh and lost his crown. One major key to discerning the voice of God, is that the voice of God will be backed up by the word of God in Scriptures.

Prayers:

1. Lord, open my spiritual ears to hear You distinctly, in the name of Jesus.

2. I silence every voice of fear, in the name of Jesus.

3. Every voice from my father's house speaking failure into my life, be silenced by the Blood of Jesus.

4. Every voice of fear choking the voice of faith in my life, die in the name of Jesus.

5. Let the voice of God thunder against my enemies, in the name of Jesus.

6. Lord cause Your Church to hear You distinctly, in the name of Jesus.

7. Drums of war beating in our land, scatter unto desolation, in the name of Jesus.
