Today’s Reading:

Psalm 31:9-16, Isaiah 53:10-12, Hebrew 2:1-9

God is the very reason for our existence and it's very common to see believers neglect or forget that it takes only their source to make them stand seeing how the flesh deals with humans. Psalms 31:9-16 talks about a man with a troubled heart, a man who was down because of the reproach, persecution, sadness and harsh realities of life he was faced with just like many believers today, even Jesus our Saviour was also faced with a great deal of persecution. In Isaiah 53:3 it was specifically described that He was despised and rejected by men, He was a man full of sorrow and acquainted with grief as we hid our faces from Him.

Are you thinking that your problems are overwhelming, and you can't hold up anymore? Are you thinking it is the end for you? The Lord is saying, He is your source code, and you should depend fully in His power to help you. In verse 11 of Isaiah 53, the Lord says He has seen the travail of His son Jesus as an offering for our sins and its consequences hence we are justified and made free from the sufferings that come with sin if we acknowledge the finished work of the death of Jesus and believe in it. Believe in the saving power of your source and in due time, the changes which you so desire will come. Hebrew 2:6 clearly stated how mindful God is of man so if you are thinking your challenges is too great for God to solve, your sins are too big for God to forgive or the storms of life in your way is too heavy for God to come through for you, stand up shake off that dust of doubt and tell yourself that your source code keeps in mind your business and He takes you more seriously than you take yourself.

Believers should note that:

  • Sorrow, challenges, reproach and the likes will always come to point believers to God as their source (2 Cor 7:10)

  • Being despised, in grief or pains does not mean disconnection from their source but a period of waiting that brings tangible result (Isaiah 53:10)

  • Troubles don't last forever, it's just a matter of time (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)

  • Believers should also bear in mind that:

  • God is the source code for the believers, and He is not known for forsaking His own (1 Cor 8:6, James 1:17-19)

  • God's plan for His people is always a step ahead and always beyond the imagination of his people (Jer 29:11).

  • The source of anything or person is what sustains that thing or person; hence believers must depend on God always to save them (Phil 4:19)

  • God is the believer’s surety in times of trouble and need (Psalm 46:1)
