Today’s Readings:
2 Samuel 15:13-14,30, 16:5-13
Psalm 3: 2-8
Mark 5: 1-20
David fled from his son Absalom and this led him to pray, fast, weep and endure the scornful words of Saul’s relative, Shimei, son of Gera. A demoniac became a preacher of grace after Jesus delivered him. Our most prized possessions are the ones we often take for granted. Your life is more important than the things you own. Your sanity is more precious than silver and gold. And your eternal salvation is the greatest treasure of them all. Our greatest need is to be saved from the effects of sin, slavery to Satan and eternal death. In place of this, God offers you grace, freedom from sin and salvation through Christ our Lord.
What you need is not more money (as helpful as this would be). You need a spirit of gratitude for what God has already done.
What you need is not fame and power. You need humility and self-restraint to help you manage the affairs of your life.
You need grace to flee the occasions of sin (especially those you are more disposed to) and never expose yourself to the devil’s attacks.
You need a contrite spirit to be sorry for your sins, confess them and repent of them.
You need grace to endure the dark phase of your life (whatever that may be for you at the moment) in preparation for the glory and testimonies that God will shower on you.
You need healing from the injury others have inflicted on your mind, soul and body so that you can be a living testimony of God’s goodness.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud:
Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I believe and surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank You, Lord! If you said the above short prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and report to the resident reverend, pastor or priest.
Prayer:
I pray for you this week that God may cancel the evil pronouncement on your life (owing to your sins) and speak a new word of healing and deliverance on your life and your situation in Jesus’ name.
May every tongue that rises in condemnation of you begin to sing songs of praise to God for you in Jesus’ name.
May the Holy Spirit deliver you from every evil spirit, especially the spirit of rebellion against God’s command in Jesus’ name.
May God heal you of every physical, mental and spiritual ailment and grant you your testimony in Jesus’ name.
May God bless your relationships, deliver you and your loved ones from every misfortune and prosper you in Jesus’ name.
May God shield you from the eyes of the enemy of your salvation and grant you victory in all your battles this week and always through Christ our Lord. Amen.
May the Lord deliver us from the misfortunes of sin and grant us countless testimonies of favours, healing and divine abundance through Christ our Lord. Amen.
