What were Jesus’ most remarkable actions in the gospels?

Was it his healings or His exorcisms? Was it His prayers, His miracles of multiplication or His sermons? I think it is His ability to manage them all. His miracles of healing were not above His sermons and both were not above His occasions of solitude in prayer. Such a balanced life is rare in today’s fast-paced world. We blame our lack of balance on insufficient time.

What can you do today to imitate the balance that Jesus created in His life?

  • Proceed from Prayer — Begin your day by commending your day into God’s hands.

  • Get to work — Set out what you wish to accomplish today and get to it.

  • Complete each task without distractions — and please no multi-tasking.

  • If you can lend a hand, please do not hesitate to help.

  • Leave people and things better than you met them — Don’t become a burden to anyone.

  • Leave when the ovation is loudest — Some people do not know when to bow out and this can become a problem.

  • Make time for rest — Do not work yourself to the ground.

  • A little silence will do you some good — It can come after a busy day or at the beginning of the new day. Do not plug into noise all the time, whether auditory or visual.

  • You have limited time. Spend it with those who matter—your family.

  • At the end of the day, be grateful that you had an opportunity to serve others.

There is more than enough time in a day to do all that has been listed above. Since you cannot give your life more time, give your time more life. Let Christ help you create balance in your life.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”

If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and report to the resident reverend, pastor or priest.

Prayer:

  1. Lord, thank you for the good in me.

  2. Lord, expose my hidden faults and heal them.

  3. Lord, keep me from boasting and make me humble.

  4. Lord, I want to be useful to those I serve today.

  5. Lord, receive the glory for all my accomplishments today. Amen.

  6. Lord, help me to create balance in my life, to focus on what is most important and do all things for Your glory and for my sanctification and salvation through Christ our Lord. Amen.
