God wants you to succeed. He wants you to excel in all aspects of your life: socially, morally, intellectually and especially, spiritually. Your soul is more important to God than anything else. This is why Jesus came to earth, so that those who have been slaves of the Devil and subjects of sin would realise that they have a higher and better calling than anything the world has to offer. What is God offering me? He offers restoration to my original dignity as His child. Yes, for all who are created in the image and likeness of God are His children. And everyone who believes that God sent His Son Jesus Christ to save us from sin, who are co-heirs with Him to the Kingdom of the Eternal Father. This is the hope we live by. Do you remember what hope is?
Hope is a theological virtue that involves trusting in God's promises and desiring eternal life. It is the expectation of receiving something good in the future, with the help of God. Eternal life is the highest good imaginable. Scripture says, "What no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined; this is what God has prepared for those who love Him" (1 Corinthians 2:9). So, “Seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33). We have missed the mark and have lost our way when we make any other thing in life more important than the God who made us. This wisdom is not given to everyone; it is given only to those who desire God with a sincere heart, just like Saint Agnes.
Saint Agnes was filled with the love of God from an early age. She vowed herself to celibacy, and when the opportunity of martyrdom arose, she did not hide away but stepped forward and took it. She was only 12 years old. In the words of the noble Bishop, Saint Ambrose, “The cruelty that did not spare her youth shows all the more clearly the power of faith in finding one so young to bear it witness.” How I long for such faith to live for God and lay down my life for love of Him!
While not everyone is destined for martyrdom like Saint Agnes, we are all made for holiness and sainthood. Our lives can speak to others and our death will surely be gain (Philippians 1:21).

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor or priest.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I desire to love You more than anyone or anything else in the world. Help me to keep this resolve for the rest of my life.
Strengthen my faith and love for You, in Jesus’ name.
Make my life a living sacrifice offered up for You daily, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Lord, my hope is in You. I cast all my cares this day on you. I pray for the strength to serve You and to show Your face of love and mercy to others through Christ our Lord. Amen.
