HELP IN THE PLACE OF PRAYER

Today’s Reading:

Romans 8: 26-28

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” (v. 26)

Prayer travels faster than the speed of light. It works wonders beyond human comprehension. The answer to prayers come in a way that's amazing. It is a weapon needed in the spiritual realm as a defense and offense. A prayerless Christian is not only powerless but prone to attack and injury from the enemy of our soul. It's catastrophic for a child of God to travel through this world a day, a week or months without approaching the throne of grace in the place of prayers. No matter how strong the prayer life of a man is, it's the Spirit of God that makes it possible.

The scriptures say ''the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities''. No child of God can pray meaningfully without the help of the Holy Spirit. The readiness and act of prayers are carried out by man, but the strength is supplied by the Holy Spirit. Our weakness cannot take us far in the place of prayers. I have had some experiences that I planned to pray for thirty minutes but I ended up praying for three and half hours, this can only be possible by the strength supplied by the Spirit of God. In that same passage, the Bible says we do not know what we ought to pray for. By human limitation, we don't know what our requests should be. At times, we have a list of needs in the place of prayer but any request that's not according to His will cannot be answered. This is one of the reasons we pray and pray, ask, knock and seek but it seems the answer does not come. Why not put your request side by side with the will of God!

The Spirit intercedes for us with wordless groan, what a great help? I see the Holy Spirit taking our requests and aligning it with God's will. He presents our requests in a modified way so that it will align with God's will then answer will come. Are you too weak to pray? Then ask the Holy Spirit to quicken your spirit man, give you burden to pray, pray aright and pray through.

Prayer:

1. Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness. You have relieved me in my distress. Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer, in Jesus name. (Ps. 4:1)

2. Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, My king and my God, For to You I will pray. My voice You will hear in the morning, O Lord. In the morning, I will direct my prayer to you and will look up. (Ps. 5:1-3)

3. Holy Spirit, the greatest intercessor, please pray for me, in Jesus name.

4. Holy Spirit divinely empower me to pray and pray effectively to the point of breakthrough, in Jesus name.

5. Let the fire upon my prayer altar keep burning, in Jesus name.

6. For as many intercessors in the body of Christ who have left their place of calling, O Lord redirect and ,restore them in Jesus name.

7. Oh Lord, raise intercessors for the church and the lost souls in Jesus name.
