Acts 7: 44-53
Today, Christians do not trust God completely. Idolatry has become the bane of an average Christian. Anything that has priority in our lives rather than the eternal Rock of Ages is idolatry. As Jesus says in Matthew 11 v. 28 -31. Jesus Christ made it clear that his sheep hearkens to his voice and no other. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. The truth is no one can be trusted except God. The arm of the flesh will fail you but Jesus never fails. Psalm 20 v.8. Some trust in chariots and some trust in horses but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. Stephen told the Israelites the hard truth about the need for them to hearken to God’s voice by going down memory lane of what Moses and other prophets have done to ensure that they follow the voice of God, but unfortunately, they became stiff- necked people. Instead of listening to his admonition they stoned him to death.
Many modern-day Christians instead of relying on God rely on their own judgment and human beings. Our God is a jealous God. If God sees that we rely or trust a person so much, he reveals the person’s weakness to us. He does this for us to know that he alone is the one that can be trusted. He never shares his Glory with anyone. That is why he is called Jehovah. He is the “ I AM THAT I AM”. The king of Kings and Lord of Lords. There is no one who has relied on God wholly and has ever been disappointed. If we believe him, we would see and experience his glory. Joshua trusted him and led the Israelites to the promised land. Joshua experienced the raw power of God such that he declared publicly unto the Israelites that he and his father’s house shall serve the Lord forever.
Beloved, the same voice that spoke to our fathers in t ages past, is calling upon us today. Beloved as from today always ask for God’s leading before you embark on any project no matter how minute it is. Until you hear him speak clearly, do not take the first step. You must tarry at the altar of prayer and victory shall be yours in Jesus name.
