Today’s Reading:
Mark 8:1-10
The experience of the wilderness is what no single man on earth is exempted from. Every building will surely experience storms at one point, but the result will be determined by the kind of foundation the building is built on. The crowd was with Jesus for three days listening to His Words without physical food. All the food that they had on them had been exhausted and now they are stranded. Jesus understood their condition and He had compassion on them. His compassion for them made Him call on His disciples to what they could do about the situation on the ground. Jesus knew it would be wicked of Him to send the people away hungry in search of food for themselves after that they spent three days with Him in the wilderness with no hope of getting any food in their present location.
NB: No man followed Jesus wholeheartedly and came back empty-handed.
The disciples could not supply any solution to the problem that Jesus posed before them, but instead, they were given stories of how the resources they had on the ground were not sufficient to feed everyone there. The disciples were stranded of sufficient food to give to the crowd, even though they had just seven loaves of bread and a few fishes with them, yet it was still not enough to feed the multitude less of feeding themselves. They were in a situation where there was no place to get resources to feed the multitude because where they were is a wilderness and nothing can be gotten there.
Two problems confronted them:
• The problem of insufficient food (resources)
• The problem of their present location which was dry.
Jesus knew what to do about the current situation of the crowd, even when the disciples and the crowd did not know. Your business, work, ministry, and career may not be progressing now. The resources you have now may not be sufficient to sustain you talk less of sustaining your household.
Friends, know today that Jesus knows what to do about those insufficient resources and ideas that you have, even when you do not know what to do. All He wants from you is to surrender those little/insufficient resources and ideas at His feet and watch Him multiply them in your hands. Jesus had COMPASSION on the crowd (vv. 2) and CARED for them (vs 6-8). He also wants the same miracle of multiplication in your life, home, business, work, ministry, and career because He is a Compassionate God who Cares for His own.
Surrender that little at His feet and see the God of wonder do wonders in your life. Remember, He knows what to do even when you don’t know what to do about that situation.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and report to the resident reverend, pastor, or priest.
Prayer:
Lord, I surrender the little resources I am having at Your feet, please take over everything.
Lord, please have compassion on me and take care of all my needs.
I have more than enough because I have Jesus with me.
Lord, please intervene in the affairs of every home that is on the verge of breaking away due to insufficient resources at home.
Lord give your church sufficient resources to propagate Your Kingdom on earth.
Whatever good thing our nation is lacking, please Lord supply.
