Today’s Reading:
Exodus 6: 2-9
“Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant” (Exodus 6:5)
Promises and covenants are made by human beings, some intentionally while others may not be intentional but over the years people have failed to fulfil such promise and covenant. Even in the sacred covenant of marriage, a lot of people have abandoned their spouses when challenges came. From the passage above, God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; he told Moses that he was ready to do something powerful to deliver his people. From verse 6 to 8, God told Moses to tell the Israelites that He is God and He will bring them out from slavery and be their God. Upon all what Moses told the people, in verse 9 the scriptures says but they did not listen to him because of the discouragement arising from harsh labour to which they were subjected.
Discouragement and harsh labour could make us forget the past goodness of God, power in the name of God, God’s promises and covenant and good things he has in store for us. Are you discouraged too? Are you under a harsh labour too? May be you have concluded that God has forgotten you. Listen and listen good, God can never forget you. The situation around the world especially in Nigeria or any part of the world you are reading this piece from may appear to be the same with the situation of Israelites but be rest assured that he has heard your groaning due to harsh labour and remember His covenants. Something new is about to break forth in your life. Pharaoh and his slave masters are about to drown. You are about to cross that Red sea. Arise and behold with the eyes of faith what God is about to do. Sing this song with me:
I can see everything turning around.. Everything turning around/2ce for my good.
JAMES ALADE
Prayer:
Father I thank You because You have not and will never forget me, in Jesus name.
Every Pharaoh saying that I will not go, what are you waiting for, die in Jesus name.
You slave masters tormenting my life and destiny, die in Jesus name
My time of celebration has come in Jesus name.
Merchants of darkness in the Church of God, what are you waiting for, be chased away with the whip of fire, in Jesus name.
God that visited Samaria, visit our nation, and turn scarcity in every area of our nation to surplus, in Jesus name.
