Today’s Reading:
Esther 3:1-15
“Then the letters were sent by couriers to all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill and to cause to perish all Jews, both old and young, little children and women, in one day, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, that is the month Adar, and to seize their possessions as plunder.”
(Esther 3:13)
One of the interesting things in the scripture is when the genealogy of a man is stated. This helps us to know the origin of that man because origin (family history) plays a pivotal role in the destiny of a man either for good or for bad. There is a need for us to briefly trace the history of Haman. Haman was a son of Hammedatha the Agagite, an Amalekite. His forefathers have sinned, and God had declared judgment on them. The Amalekites mistreated the Israelites when they came out of Egypt and because of that God promised to wipe them out. In first Samuel, God told Saul to utterly destroy the Amalekites, but his obedience was partial and partial as far as God is concerned is disobedience. Right from the book of Exodus, the Amalekites have been the archenemy of the Jews. Though as far as God is concerned they are walking corpses due to his declaration on them.
Let’s look at a few things Haman did:
Haman hijacked the promotion of Mordecai Esther 2:21-23; 3:1
Between the end of chapter two and the beginning of chapter three of the book of Esther, the bible says Mordecai exposed traitors who planned a coup to destroy the king but in chapter three the bible says that the King promoted Haman. The Holy Spirit made me understand that Haman hijacked the promotion that was meant for Mordecai. It was Mordecai who did well but Haman was promoted. One thing you must understand is that the Spirit of Haman always wants to hijack your promotion and you must not allow such.
Haman was Proud Esther 3:2-4
Power intoxicates and we see how Haman was power drunk. Everyone was paying homage to him and he was going around with his shoulders up. You can’t blame Haman, his forefathers too have never been at peace with the Jews so it was running in his blood. I declare today into your life that powers that are proud because they are in a position of authority, the Lord will humble them today in Jesus' name.
Haman was full of wrath Esther 3:5
To be full of wrath is to be full of rage and being very angry. A man who is full of wrath can go to any length to vent his anger on his subject. He can employ any instrument to destroy the person. As long as the person is still alive, that wrath cannot be pacified.
Haman wanted to wipe out a race i.e., genocide Esther 3:6
If not Haman was highly wicked, a man offended him but he wasn’t satisfied to destroy that man but rather a whole race. You will agree with me that Haman must not be allowed to live. If you don’t kill your Haman now, Haman will kill you. In the evil world, there is no mercy. So as a child of God, there are some spiritual battles in which you must not exercise mercy, but rather declare total annihilation just like God declared against the Amalekites.
Haman reported to higher authority Esther 3:8-11
For Haman to fulfil his plan there is a need for him to connect to higher authority. What transpired in verses 8 to 11 is exactly what goes on in the spirit realm. When a particular power or spirit cannot fight a battle, he will summon or invite greater powers to join forces or alliance together to fight the person. Children of God must understand that some spiritual battles cannot be fought alone. Report any stubborn battle to a higher authority, you can connect with someone higher than you spiritually to pray and fast together and ultimately connect with God.
Haman selected time to cause the people to mourn or annihilate Esther 3:7
Time is very germane in fighting spiritual battles. The devil doesn’t waste time on anything. Any opportunity for the devil to strike will never be wasted. Sons of God too must understand time and strike at the right time before the enemy of our souls strikes.
Haman determined their death by writing Esther 3:12-14
Letters were sent to describe the nature of death. In verse 13, then the letters were sent by couriers to all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill and to cause to perish all Jews, both old and young, little children and women, in one day… This is the mission of the enemy as written in John 10:10. Haman stated clearly in black and white how the people of God should be killed. What an insult to the Almighty God! Powers that want you dead shall die in your place in Jesus’ name. Even after their death, their properties will be confiscated.
Haman was celebrating while the people were bewildered Esther 3:15
No one will hear the day of his death and be happy. They were bewildered but Haman was celebrating. He was happy because he thought the deed had been done since it had been written and surely it would be executed. I pray for you today that, whatever the enemy has written against your life, family, business, household and ministry shall be turned against them in Jesus’ name.
Spirit of Haman is still very much at work in our time and we must not be ignorant of the devices of the enemy. This spirit could be working in the lives of your closest friend, boss or any family members and you must deal with it mercilessly. Kill Haman before he kills you.

Spirit of Haman hunting for my destiny, you are a liar, I destroy your works in Jesus name
Generation of Haman fighting against my generation, your time is up, die in Jesus' name
Whatever the enemy has written against my destiny be consumed by fire in Jesus' name
Powers that are angry because of my promotion, die without remedy in Jesus' name
Higher authority working with Haman to destroy me, be roasted by fire in Jesus.
