Today’s Reading:
Genesis 8:1–5
“And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged; The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained; And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated. And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.”
(Genesis 8:1–5 KJV)

God’s remembrance in the Scriptures is deliberate rather than a mental process. In His remembrance, He acts mercifully to save (Gen. 30:22). He sends the wind (Heb. ‘ruach’), the same word used for the Holy Spirit in Gen. 1:2). After the destruction, He re-creates, just as He created from chaos. The flood accomplished its purpose, but God still had to rescue Noah and those with him in the Ark. So, he turned his attention to their need to live a normal life again: God remembered Noah and all wild animals and livestock that were with him in the ark (v.1a). Just as he had opened the springs and floodgates of heaven for forty days earlier (7:11), he now closed them (v. 2). Because all aspects of nature obey Him, he sent the wind over the earth and the waters receded (v. 1b).
Sometimes life feels like a long flood. Problems rise like mighty waters, and it seems as though everything familiar is swallowed up. Noah must have felt that way—sealed up in the ark for months, surrounded by endless waves, unsure of what the future holds. Yet in the midst of all that silence, danger, and waiting, the Bible declares one powerful line: “And God remembered Noah.” (v.1a). This simple phrase carries eternal comfort. It does not mean God had forgotten Noah; rather, it means His time of divine action had come. When the Bible says “God remembered”, it signals a turning point—a shift from waiting to fulfilment, from sorrow to joy, from delay to deliverance. God remembered Abraham and gave him a son (Genesis 21:1-3). He remembered Rachel and opened her womb (Genesis 30:22). He remembered His covenant and delivered Israel from Egypt (Exodus 2:24). When God remembers you, everything changes! There are seasons when it feels like God has gone silent over your situation—when prayers seem unanswered, and your ark is rocking in the storm. But the same God who remembered Noah still remembers you. He knows your name, your pain, and your patience. His timing may appear slow, but He is never late. “For the vision is for an appointed time…” (Hab. 2:3).
When God remembered Noah, the first thing He did was cause a wind to blow. The same wind that once brought destruction now began to bring restoration. The waters began to recede. God began to dry up what once overwhelmed Noah. This is what happens when grace speaks—what used to drown you will begin to bow before you. The storm will still, the waters will retreat, and your ark will rest. Beloved, your waiting is not wasted. The God who remembered Noah will remember you. He sees your faithfulness, your tears, and your trust. He is already preparing your place of rest. Just as the ark rested on Mount Ararat, you too will come to your mountain of stability, peace, and new beginning. Hold on. God’s memory never fails. He will remember you for healing, for favour, for restoration, and for elevation.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! You are welcome to the body of Christ. Prayerfully look for a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor or priest.
Prayer:
Father, thank You because You are the God who remembers our afflictions. Even when we feel forgotten, Your eyes are still on us.
Lord, remember me in this season—remember my labour, my tears, and my waiting, in Jesus’ name.
Just as You sent a wind to dry the flood for Noah, send Your wind to calm every storm in my life, family and nation, in Jesus’ name.
Father, every overflowing challenge that has surrounded me—let it begin to decrease now by Your mighty hand, in Jesus’ name.
Lord, teach me, encourage me, help me to wait patiently in the ark until You say it is time to step out, in Jesus’ name.
Remember our nation, O Lord, and settle us in peace and divine favour, in Jesus’ name.
Remember Your Promise concerning Your Church, that You will build Your Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail. Restore the stability of Your Church to function to the glory of Your Holy name, in Jesus’ name.
We declare that the ark of turbulent relationships will come to rest. Let the storms in marriages, upon restlessness in the lives of troubled children cease, and let there be testimonies of Your faithfulness, in Jesus’ name.
We declare peace and stability in war-torn nations, nations that are being persecuted because of their faith in Christ Jesus. Lord, let the blood of the saints be seed for the growth of Christianity. Lord, shine the light of Your Word upon all forms of darkness, take away the captives of the Mighty and deliver the prey of the Terrible, break bondages to addiction and slavery to the evil one, in Jesus’ name.
Lord, in Your mercy and mighty power, walk in the midst of our political leaders – federal, state and local government, rulers, and different areas of security agencies. Empower them and provide resources to secure the nation, in Jesus’ name
