GOD’S TESTIMONY SUSTAINED

Today’s Reading:

Daniel 3:1-30

“The God we worship can save us from you and your flaming furnace.” (v. 17 CEV)

A law has just been pronounced in the land of Babylon to direct everyone to worship the golden image. Needless to say that this law was made to exalt Nebuchadnezzar and to implicate the three Hebrew guys in our today’s reading; Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. The first thing to learn in this lesson is that there are decrees that govern the world system in which we are living but not all the laws are binding on you as a believer because you belong to God's kingdom. There is a culture that governs those in God’s kingdom and under no circumstance are you meant to bow to it. Nothing affects a man that stands for nothing. The reason you are giving in to every worldly dictate is because you do not have a stand. The world is full of too many general people that have no identity, but if you are a child of God, you must uphold God’s identity. That is exactly what these three guys taught us. Your faith can only be ascertained in the face of trials and temptations.

When they were threatened, they did not panic even though they felt odd. But that is the price you will have to pay for standing. There is dignity in being odd. These people did not just talk and stand for Christ, they spoke of Him. They were confident to declare his deeds. Don’t just stand for God, make him known. You can’t be playing a safe Christianity. In fact, there is no one who truly wants to live for Christ that will not declare Him. Don’t keep mute about your God. After standing and speaking about their God, God upheld their testimony about Him. God will always be proud of those that are proud of Him. The reason the power of His testimony is not revealed is because you are ashamed to market Him to the world. These guys said, “The God we worship can save us from you and your flaming furnace.” This points to the fact that they have seen God’s track record of rescuing those that stand for Him. Yet, even if God will not save them, they were still ready to die for what they believed in. Can you put God on the line today by declaring your faith in places where the truth of God is not welcomed?

Dear friend, in every little detail, God is calling you to stand for what is right, correct and that projects the truth of the scripture. Don’t be ashamed of walking with God. And when you do, His testimony will be sustained. Only through this will the people of the world tremble at His Majesty and accept Him as Lord and Saviour just as Nebuchadnezzar yielded his kingdom to GOD.

PRAYER:

1. I receive grace dear Lord to stand and speak for you in this world, in Jesus’ name

2. The testimony of your power is sustained in my life as I make you known to the world, in Jesus’ name

3. Father, may the world through Your Church see the manifestation of your power, in Jesus name.

4. Father, grant your sons and missionaries the grace to stand firm in the face of persecution, in Jesus name.

5. The kingdom of this world shall become the kingdom of our God, in Jesus’ name.
