GOD REWARDS FAITHFUL SERVANTS

Today’s Reading:

Matthew 24:42-51

On February 9th, 2020, the Abia State-born teacher, Obiageli Mazi was promoted to the position of Assistant Headmistress in Borno State by Governor Babagana Zulum for her dedication to work. The class teacher was promoted during an inspection to assess public institutions in the State on Friday where the governor paid an unscheduled visit to Shehu Sanda Kyarimi 2 primary School around 6:30 am to see how the school infrastructure could be improved. The governor discovered that Mazi who is a level 12 teacher and has been in service for 31years was the only one who had resumed duty, the governor could not hide his excitement and was impressed by her commitment to work rewarded the class teacher with a #100,000 (One hundred thousand Naira) cash gift, also the governor said " her gender, tribe, religion or state of origin does not surprise me but her passion, enthusiasm, dedication, commitment and above all patriotism.

Obiageli Mazi has NCE though not a graduate, but she was recommended for instantaneous promotion because of her commitment to an executive order by the governor. V42"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." The story of Obiageli proofs Proverbs 14:12, 16:25 which says "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but ..." Either good or bad a man knows; he should continue but Mazi, fortunately, learnt and decided to go to work early and consistent too. V46"Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord when he cometh shall find so doing."

Some of us will receive their rewards before they die like Mazi and others when they get to heaven because their secret labour will testify for them. Nothing you do in life is hidden or without rewards which can be positive or negative. Develop the right character like truthfulness, sincerity, dedication, integrity, commitment in all you do. If the governor can override the rule of law as enshrined in the constitution to encourage and appreciate a good deed, how much more God Matthew 7:11.

OLUWOLE OTEMADE

Prayer:

  1. Thank you, Lord, for this wonderful day which you have loaded with blessings for me, so that I will rejoice and be glad in it, in Jesus name.

  2. Lord have mercy on me on every wrong attitude, character, and behaviour that I displayed and displeased you, please help me to develop better ways to live which will give you joy and will bring your rain of abundant blessings on me and all I do, in Jesus name.

  3. Heavenly Father, I pray for this nation, our Israel (Nigeria) that every wrong attitude, a character that has brought us to this level ( striking doctors, religious violence, banditry, killings, hunger in the land of abundance), please forgive us and help us both as leaders and followers to do away with it and begin to rebuild at home, in church and the nation as a whole, in Jesus name.

  4. Lord Jesus, let my heaven of goodness and mercies be open, cause my ministering angel to appear and do for me with ease what seems impossible, in Jesus name.

  5. As I remain diligent, dedicated, and committed to doing your demands and commands, rewards me with that which only you can give, that which will cause ears of men to tingle, do it in my life and family, in Jesus mighty name.
