GOD OF THE OPPRESSED

Today’s Reading:

Exodus 14:10-31; 15:20-21

After the Passover feast, when God finally released the children of Israel from the land of slavery and as they were coming out of Egypt in Exodus 14, Pharaoh's heart and his chariots were hardened by God and so they pursued hard after the children of Israel and on seeing them the Israelite children cried to God and accused Moses of leading them into destruction. But these were the same set of people who were in Egypt (Exodus 3:7) where God performed 10 different powerful miraculous plagues in their presence and in their favour in order to rescue them and punish the Egyptians who held them as slaves for over 400 years.

They instantaneously forgot all that was done before that moment of attack and began to blame Moses but yet God was determined "for the scripture said unto Pharaoh, even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might show my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth". Romans 9:17 and Exodus 9:16 brings his utterance to fulfilment upon Pharaoh and the gods of Egypt.

  • Are you in a similar situation?

  • How long have you been held down and it seems it is getting harder even after several hours of prayer?

  • Are they as many and seem extraordinarily strong like Pharaoh and the host of the Egyptian chariots?

  • And are you scared of the Red sea before you and the host chase behind?

I prophesy according to the word of God that the Egyptian you see today, you shall see them again no more, in Jesus mighty name.

Prayer:

  1. I thank you Lord for sending your word to set me free from bondage and imprisonment, May all my enemies pursuing me be drowned in the Red sea today, in the name of Jesus.

  2. I break loose today regardless of how long I have been held down out of every imprisonment spiritually or physically, in the name of Jesus.

  3. I receive victory over every host waging war against me no matter their number and strength, in the name of Jesus.

  4. Lord Jesus keep me as the apple of your eyes, I regain my confidence and freedom, I am free in the name of Jesus, I enter into my promised land by the power, in the name of Jesus.

  5. I march through every Red sea before me on dry ground, in the name of Jesus Christ.
