Today’s Reading:

Genesis 29:31-35

“And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren"

(Genesis 29:31)

God’s account of the events in Genesis indicate that God is the author and giver of life. HE is the one who opens and closes the womb. God is the one who grants life to every child and who keeps children from being conceived.

Every child who is conceived is thus a gift from God. Every child who is conceived has a purpose from God. Leah’s joy and heartbreak is described in Genesis 29:31-35. Tricked into marrying Leah, Jacob’s heart was never with her. He loved Rachel more; in fact, it would be fair to say he never loved Leah at all.

When the Lord saw that Leah was not loved, HE enabled her to conceive, but Rachel remained childless. But Racheal continued to pray, and God thought of her and opened her womb so that she would conceive.

Prayer:

1. The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.

2. The heavens declare the glory of God: And the firmament shows His handiwork.

3. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge.

4. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard.

5. Almighty God, you are the miracle maker, do a miracle in my life today in Jesus name.

6. Father Lord turn what the devil has tagged impossible in my life to possibility in Jesus name.

7. Thank you, Lord, for your plans for me, for I know they are for my good in Jesus name.

8. Father Lord visit Christian homes at the verge of break with Your mercy and Your mighty power, repair, heal and deliver, in Jesus name.

9. Father, we hand-over our children, youths and young adults to Your fatherly care; teach them, mold them and guide them in Your way of righteousness, in Jesus name.

10. Father visit our nation with Your fire and power, encourage our leaders and grant them the boldness to do the right thing, in Jesus name.
