Today’s Reading:

1 Kings 22:19 – 25

Then Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing by, on His right hand and on His left. And the Lord said, ‘Who will persuade Ahab to go up, that he may fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ So, one spoke in this manner, and another spoke in that manner. Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord, and said, ‘I will persuade him.’ The Lord said to him, ‘In what way?’ So, he said, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And the Lord said, ‘You shall persuade him, and also prevail. Go out and do so.’ Therefore look! The Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and the Lord has declared disaster against you.” Now Zedekiah, the son of Chenaanah, went near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did the spirit from the Lord go from me to speak to you?” And Micaiah said, “Indeed, you shall see on that day when you go into an inner chamber to hide!” (1 Kings 22:19 – 25)

The above account gives us a lot of insight as to what goes on in the spirit realm, which, in the physical, we may not really be aware of. The chapter opened with the account of King Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, paying a visit to King Ahab, king of Israel. King Ahab spoke to King Jehoshaphat about joining him to go to war with Syria over a place called Ramoth Gilead. King Jehoshaphat requested a prophet to inquire from God if the venture had God’s approval. Ahab called up 400 prophets of Baal, who chorused only one verdict, that Ahab should go and that he would win. King Jehoshaphat was not convinced and requested another prophet.  Micaiah was called, whom Ahab said never prophesied anything good about him. Micaiah then gave the prophecy as narrated in the above scripture (the reader is encouraged to read the entire chapter).

Comments from the above scripture:

  1. There is a court in Heaven where adjudication is going on over the affairs of men.

  2. As children of God, we have a right and direct access to the court in Heaven to present our case and obtain justice. This is more so when you feel you have been wronged, and you may not have the clout or resources to obtain justice on earth.

  3. There is judgment written in the Bible for every offence that can ever be committed here on earth (Psalm 149 vs 9).

  4. The interesting thing about this court is that when we obtain judgment, we are also the ones to execute the judgment, as shown in Psalm 149 vs 9.

  5. You need to find the appropriate scripture spelling out the judgment and take it to the court of Heaven.

In the case of King Ahab, there was a judgment given concerning him when he and his wife Jezebel murdered a man called Naboth and took his vineyard (1Kings 21 vs 17 – 19). This judgement was swiftly executed in chapter 22, part of which is written above.

No matter the area you have been wronged, go to the court of Heaven. It is better than spending a lot of money on lawyers and frequenting police stations without getting any results.

Examples of cases you can take to the court of Heaven.

  1. Witchcraft attack. Judgement: Exodus 22:18; 1Samuel 2:6.

  2. Wrongly accused, and you know you are innocent. Judgment: Psalm 35; Psalm 109.

  3. When you have lost something or something has been stolen from you. Judgement of the flying scroll Zechariah 5:1-4;

  4. A maltreated widow or orphan. Judgement: Exodus 22:22-24.

What qualifies you to go to the court of Heaven?

Just like we have in earthly courts, for you to be qualified to present a case or defend one, you must be a qualified lawyer. In the court of Heaven, these are the qualifications you need:

  1. You must be born again

  2. You must repent of any known sin. As the saying goes, he that must come to equity must do so with clean hands.

  3. You must have a thorough knowledge of the Bible. Read it daily.

  4. You must be bold, especially in the place of prayer (Hebrews 4:16).

VICTOR ABASSAH

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”

If you said the prayer, Congratulations! You are welcome to the body of Christ. Prayerfully seek out a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor, or priest.

Prayers:

  1. Oh God, forgive me of every sin I have committed in the name of Jesus.

  2. Witchcraft powers of my father's house, and witchcraft powers of my mother’s house, attacking my destiny, die in the name of Jesus.

  3. Oh God arise, and contend with them that contend with me, fight against them that fight against me in the name of Jesus.

  4. Oh God, vindicate me in the name of Jesus (Romans 8 vs 33).

  5. Oh God, arise and avenge me of my adversaries in the name of Jesus.

  6. Pray Psalm 35 and 109.

  7. Let the flying scroll of the Lord visit the habitation of every thief stealing the resources of this country in the name of Jesus.
