FULFILLING GOD'S PURPOSE EVEN IN DEATH

John 19:38-42

A dog is said to be a man's best friend not just because they are used as guard at home, some are trained to lead the blind and some run errands to grocery stores but there have been various stories of dogs who went ahead to pay the prize of friendship even with their own lives by either shielding their owners or attacking the enemies so that their owners could get away from being hurt.

But the reverse is the case in the passage for our consideration. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not( John 1:1-5 KJV ). Jesus was the word, he was with God, his life was the light of men. Jesus through whom we were created came to die for the people He created, John 10:15b "... and I lay down my for the flock's sake."; also to fulfil prophecies."And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth."( Isaiah 53:9 KJV).

Again: "For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." (Isaiah 55:10-11 KJV) May all God's wonderful prophecies begin to find fulfillment in your life, family and ministry. May nothing spiritual or physical disrupt the manifestation of God's will in your life. May every ancient and everlasting doors be lifted up that the King of glory may come and take His place in your life in Jesus name.

May the prize Jesus paid not be wasted in our lives in Jesus name.

5. Father, at this period of persecution, unite the body of Christ and help them to focus on the Saviour and the kingdom growth, in Jesus name.
