Today’s Reading:
Isaiah 5:1-7
“What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?”

The passage above is often referred to as the Song of the Vineyard, which illustrates God's relationship with Israel and Judah. It presents God's expectations from His people, but the expectations were cut short by the result or fruit they produced. Everything the vineyard needed to bring forth fruit was provided by God.
Everything this generation needs to produce fruit has been provided by God. Technology is abundant. Men of God who preach sound doctrine are available. Volumes of books with deep insight are being written. Diverse versions of the scriptures are available. People worldwide also study the original languages of the Bible (Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic). Conferences, seminars, retreats, and revival programmes are organised to seek God’s face, while written sermons are easily available. Instead of an increase in godliness and Christian virtues, immoralities are the order of the day. All manners of sexual perversion (paedophile, lesbianism, homosexuality, gay, masochism, incest, bigamy, etc), corruption, embezzlement and different social vices characterise our society.
Are you fruitful or unfruitful? Are you bringing forth the fruits God expects from you? Malice in the house of God, hatred and rivalry among the ministers of the gospel abounds. God is calling us to bring forth fruits of repentance, love, justice, righteousness, among others. Before the hot judgment of God comes upon your life, repent and be fruitful as written in Galatians 5:22-23. But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, inner peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.
You must be fruitful or else God will replace you.
JAMES ALADE
To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! You are welcome to the body of Christ. Prayerfully look for a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor or priest.
Prayer:
Search my heart and purge me of every immoral act in Jesus’ name.
Roots of bitterness and hatred in me be uprooted in Jesus’ name.
I refuse to be fruitless in Jesus’ name.
May l not be a burden to heaven in Jesus’ name.
