FROM NOBODY TO SOMEBODY

Today’s Reading:
I Samuel 9:15- 10:1b
“I come from the tribe of Benjamin, the smallest of the tribes of Israel, and I belong to the poorest family in Benjamin. Why are you saying these things to me?” (I Samuel 9:21)

The Israelites needed a king at a particular time, and there is a need for someone to emerge as the first king. Being first in anything is not an easy task, especially when it comes to electing a leader. If the people of Israel were asked to vote for their leader, some tribes would lead while others might not have enough votes. Jacob had twelve sons and the last of all was Benjamin. If it were to be by position, the tribe of Reuben should provide the first king in Israel. But when God is ready to work, He doesn’t consider age, status or pedigree but mercy speaks. When Samuel told Saul that the eyes of all Israel were on him, he described his tribe as the smallest, not only that, but he also said he belonged to the poorest family. So, by human standard, Saul is not qualified to be the king.
God works in diverse ways. One cannot predict how He works. The scriptures say, He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory; for the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and he hath set the world upon them I Samuel 2:8. God cannot be queried; He does what pleases him. He brings out the best from the worst situation. He takes a close look, opens it and makes it outstanding. Saul was nobody, but God took him and made him somebody, not just ordinary somebody but someone with honour and dignity. He became the first king in the land of Israel. God specializes in impossibilities.
What level or situation are you in presently? Look at your background, can anything good come out of it, just like Nathaniel said. You are a clay in the hands of the potter. What your life will become is yet to manifest. All you need to do is to follow him and trust him for He has a good and far better plan for you than you can imagine. It doesn’t matter what your parents have said about you, they are not your creator. Even if you have some disabilities and you have been named as a misfit for the society, the Lord send me to announce to you that he wants to make you somebody of repute and decorate your life. For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of good and not evil to give you a future Jeremiah 29:11. There is hope for you and this hope will not disappoint you. God is not through with you yet, you are a work-in-progress. He is about to announce you to the whole world. You have gone too far to retreat and accept defeat. You are a shining star, a dynamite going somewhere to happen. You are the next musician the world is waiting for. You are about to break a record. He is about to take you from the quarry site to the showroom. Stand up and celebrate your next victory. I see you rising into stardom. Halleluyah!

Every spirit of limitation, lose your hold over my destiny in Jesus’ name.
I rise above principalities and powers in Jesus’ name.
Powers that swallow star in my family, my star is not your candidate in Jesus’ name.
I come out of obscurity into limelight in Jesus’ name.
