FREEDOM IN CHRIST

Today’s Reading:

Colossians 2:16 - 3:1

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

(Colossians 3:16 AKJV)

Salvation brings freedom and that freedom is total. We have total freedom from sins, rules, or laws that have hold us down before. Our freedom in Christ is sure and certain. We must therefore not allow anything to hold us down or make us feel condemned (Romans 8:1). As a child of God, who has been set free from sins, we must be ready to remain and follow Christ to the end. There are some certain things that we must do. We will be considering some in this study - Biblical Background/ insights. God made us alive in Christ and forgave us of all our sins, he cancelled every words or charges that is against us (Colossians 2: 14) and gave us a new life.

We must not allow anyone to condemn or hold us down by some certain rules Our life in Christ is free from every laws and from every powers of this world. Whatever will stop us from following or living our life to the fullest in Christ should be avoided. Every sin, rules or laws that can affect our growth in Christ should be avoided. In other to enjoy the full freedom that Christ resurrection brings, we must set our hearts on the things above. Yearn and pant to know the realities of Christ and also aim and seek the eternal things and treasures that lies where Christ is. Our heart must always seek to understand Gods heart desires every time and to do His will. We must come to understand that we do not belong to this world and so we must not get too concerned about the things of this world. Our focus must be on God alone and all that has to do with His kingdom.

APPLICATION TO LIFE

No rule or law can bind a life that is dead. Therefore, as believers we must understand that we are dead and the life we live now is for Christ (Galatians 2:20). In our day to day life, we must be ready to live as one who us dead to sin but alive in Christ. No law should bound us or stop us from living about free life in Christ. We must also understand that our freedom in Christ is not a license for us to sin or to do things anyhow we like it. Our freedom in Christ is for us to serve him and build his Kingdom.

In conclusion, Salvation truly brings freedom but many Christian are still walking and going around in bondage today because they haven't fully understand their position in Christ and they still allow so many laws and rules of this world to bind them down. We must be ready to live in freedom and never allow anything to hold us down. Points to ponder on ; Our freedom in Christ is not a license to sin.
