Today’s Reading:
PSALM 23 (v.4)
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou annointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6)Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” (Psalm 23 AKJV)
The above scripture text is so loaded with meaning... A lot is going on around us that create fear, even in the heart of the bravest, the faithful, the Elect of God, that is, the children of faith. Fear is the opposite of faith, where fear rules, it will be so impossible for God Almighty to work wonders. King David in writing the above, trusted God, God's provision even in the face of death. Isaiah 43:1 says, "Don't fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine". God actually commands us not to fear or worry. The phrase "fear not" is used at least 80 times in the Bible. WHY ??? It is simply because God knows that fear is a strong weapon used by Satan and his agents against children of God. Fear decreases our hope and limits our victories. This Spirit of fear (yes, it is a spirit). Are you surprised? It's a tormenting Spirit. It always intends to keep you from fulfilling the destiny that God has on your life; from living a joyful life in the Lord.
Let us examine some scriptures to help. The word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision saying, “Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward”. (Gen. 15:1).
FEAR NOT (Gen. 26:24);
FEAR NOT (Gen. 46 :3);
NOT FEAR THEM (Deut. 3:22);
FEAR NOT (Josh. 8:1)
FEAR NOT (Josh. 10: 25)
Though we are compassed with lots of negativity, we need to stand strong, encourage ourselves and other brethren. Trust absolutely in the Words, power, faithfulness of God. For our family, we should fear no evil, though the storm is raging, we shall overcome in Jesus name. For our nation, we should trust more in God, so there will not be war but peace. For the Missionaries, out there evangelising for lost Souls, Satan and its cohorts are raging against, persecuting, and tormenting them... I say hold the fort for the Judge of the World is near. You shall not lose your rewards in Jesus name.
And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hands are they delivered (Gen 9:2). The Word of God stands sure forever!

I come against every spirit of fear in my life, in the name of Jesus.
Lord Jesus, destroy every stronghold of fear in my family, in Jesus name.
Lord, let your mercy help my unbelief, in Jesus name.
Stronghold of fear in our churches, lose your hold, in Jesus mighty name.
Stronghold of fear over our nation, lose your hold, in Jesus mighty name.
