Today’s Reading:
2 Peter 3:8-13
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness.” (2 Peter 3:10-11)

Investment is the act of putting money, time, or resources into something (like a business, property, or stocks) with the expectation of getting a future benefit or profit. Investment can also mean committing your time, energy, or effort to something that will bring results in the future. In a biblical sense, investment refers to directing your time, treasure, and talent toward God and eternity, rather than just temporary worldly things (Matthew 6:19-20). As much as investment in worldly goods is encouraged, they are temporal. May I ask you this question? If everything you own today disappeared tomorrow, what would remain?
Many people invest heavily in business, property, and reputation—but few think about eternal investments. Peter reminds us: this world is passing away, but God’s promises are everlasting. Though earthly investment has profit which will not go beyond here, everlasting investment is a blessing to humanity and divinity. How many people are thanking God for your life? The following are everlasting investments that will be rewarded here and hereafter: preaching and winning souls, giving to God, his work and servants, holiness, righteousness, living a life of integrity, obedience, serving God, and salvation of your souls. These, among other things, God expects from us through His word.
Billy Graham, Chuck Templeton & Bron Clifford. Two invested in fame and faded. Graham invested in eternity and finished well, leaving behind a legacy that still wins souls. Earthly investments fade, but everlasting investments in Christ endure forever.
JAMES ALADE
To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! You are welcome to the body of Christ. Prayerfully seek out a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor, or priest.
Prayer:
May I not live my life without any impact in Jesus’ name.
Anything taking my mind off the everlasting investment, be destroyed by fire in Jesus’ name.
Grace to do what God expects of me, I receive it in Jesus’ name.
