Today’s Reading:
RUTH 2:1-9
"Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? and when thou art athirst, go unto the vessels and drink of that which the young men have drawn." (v. 9)
Does loyalty have a reward? Yes of course. The above Scripture shows that. Although loyalty is getting scarce in our present world, however, from the story above, we saw how the loyalty of Ruth to Naomi paid off. She got favour from people around her, and from Boaz, and God Almighty rewarded her, by getting married to Boaz, from her lineage came to King David and also our Lord Jesus Christ.
That strong feeling of support, holding on to that friendship, having unshakable allegiance to our Leader, Pastors, authority and to our Saviour, has a reward. If we study the people that were following David, before the Lord established him, we shall discover that many were loyal to him, loyal to his cause. Even though he made some mistakes that did not make them be unfaithful.
This disloyalty, this unfaithfulness is what is affecting us today in our relationship with God Almighty. Loyalty sure pays... We can see from the lives of Noah, Abraham, Moses, Daniel, Samuel, David etc.. in the old testament, And in the New Testament, the disciples, apostles and followers of Jesus Christ. when we study their walk with God, the relationship with Him, these are people we should emulate. The persecution faced by the Apostles, Paul inclusive..., the trials of faith, these are challenges to me and you. Can our loyalty stand the test of time? Can we endure the trials? Persecution? Beatings? False accusations, because of our faith? The reward for loyalty is enormous... The crown of life, eternal life with Christ, victory over every Satanic attack and much more.
But then, this comes easy for us, for we have Christ as our Lord, when you have Christ, He empowers you with the Holy Spirit.

Father Lord, empower me not to fail You, in Jesus name.
I receive grace to overcome temptation, in Jesus name.
