TODAY'S Reading:
Amos 2:12-3:8
"But ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink and commanded the prophets, saying prophesy not.
(Amos 2:12)
Wickedness in the world is as old as the world itself. No wonder God Himself said in Genesis 6:5 that "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually". The wickedness of this modern-day life has semblance of the wickedness of old (Israelites) people. They were doing all manners of abominable things; A man and his father would go unto the same maid to profane the Holy name of God. Selling the righteousness for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes; laying themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar; and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god. Even they would not want to hear prophesy from God through His prophets. These are some of what characterised everyday events in our society.
We as the true children of God are not to emulate these evil characters. These people of old got the judgement of God and were sent on exile to the land of Babylon by the Lord because of their wickedness and disobedience. The Bible in Psalm 7:11 says "God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked everyday". We are not to emulate or engage in any form of wickedness, rather, we are to allow the Holy Spirit to transform our lives as agents of righteousness, in order to enjoy the goodness of God. We are to run away from all forms of evils in our neighbourhood, place of work, even in the place of worship.

Prayer:
My father deliver me, from worldly entanglement, in the name of Jesus.
Lord Jesus, water your words in my heart, in the name of Jesus.
Power to fear the Lord at all times overshadow my life afresh, in the name of Jesus.
Ancestral power over my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
By the mercy in the Blood of Jesus, I am protected from the agenda of the wicked in the name of Jesus.
