DO NOT BE LORD OVER OTHERS

Today's Reading:

1 Peter 5:3

"Neither as being lords over God's heritage but being ensamples to the flock". (v. 3 AKJV)

The expectation of heaven for us is to humble ourselves and be a good example to others in our relationship with fellow men. Jesus said, in Matthew 23:12: "And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased: and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted". Satan (Lucifer) was sent out of heaven because of pride. We as leaders or followers of Christ need to humble ourselves at all times. A lot of character and behaviour that are not worthy are being put up by some believers, which includes seeking for self-recognition, wanting to be seen on high seat at occasions, to be attended to first where they need to be patient, carrying Bible after them, not wanting to serve their disciples as Jesus did , proud to do certain jobs for the Lord etc.

The consequences of this could be great ranging from: rejection from God and men, shame, disgrace, hatred, attack, abstinence from such individuals, unanswered prayer and so on. Therefore, let us not be lords before people we need to show ourselves as good examples, for us not to be a stumbling blocks to them.

Prayer:

  1. Power of pride in my life die by fire in the name of Jesus.

  2. Oh God my father make me your mouthpiece in the name of Jesus.

  3. Power of humility and obedience, I am available enter my life in the name of Jesus

  4. Oh God my father make me a vessel unto honour in the name of Jesus.

  5. Whatever that will make me derail in my journey with you, Oh Lord my father, remove it from me in the name of Jesus.
