Today’s Readings:

Psalm 51:1-10, Genesis 8:20-9:7

It is apparently cleared here from the texts above that the wrath of God does not linger forever. He punishes sinners but any time they or individual come to Him remorsefully he forgives. David after the atrocity he committed – immorality and killing of innocent warrior of Israel, he was confronted by Prophet Nathan who exposed his covered and hidden sin; after which he felt remorseful of his unlawful act. It is very appalling to continue sinning – it does not please God. Before a sinner can receive a change of heart, he needs his own Nathan who will speak divinely message to naked him of his sinful act. David could not withstand the efficacy of the message and the power of the Word compelled him to confess and repent.

This is what led to the restoration and the newness of the entire universe after God wiped away sinners from the land. Any time God looked down from heaven he saw nothing looks like sin and sinners, so he decided to restructure the system of the earth through Noah. God commanded blessing and multiplication over the ruminants to start afresh. There was a sacrifice (worship) conducted by Noah that pleases God and that made God to shower blessing over the land – therefore, repent of your sins and begin to render quality worship unto God and you shall be blessed.
