Today’s Reading:
Exodus 1: 8 - 22, 5:2
Pharaoh is not the name of a person rather it is a kingly title of Egypt, just like we have titles for kings in Nigeria like Soun of Ogbomoso, Oni of Ife, Deji of Akure and so on. The first Pharaoh was seen in the book of Genesis Chapter 12 when Abraham went down to Egypt to sojourn due to famine. Another Pharaoh was noticed in Genesis Chapters 37-50 during the life of Joseph. Another Pharaoh was also in power in Exodus Chapter 1 and that will be our focus of study.
Let us take note of what the SPIRIT OF PHARAOH has done and can do:
He is not happy about your increase and enlargement (Exodus 1:9). You are a threat to them. When Pharaoh sees that you are becoming great and increments are your portion, he becomes jealous even though he may become angry. When people are not happy about your increments, you may not notice it at all. Such people can even be in the company of your friends. Anyone who is not happy about your achievement, it is the Spirit of Pharaoh that is at work.
Want to deal shrewdly with you (Exodus 1:10). You need discernment in dealing with people. Some people are cunning just like Jonadab in 2 Samuel 13:3. He ruined the life of Amnon due to the wrong counsel he gave him. Some people give the wrong counsel so that you will miss your journey and destiny in life since they are aware of where you are going. If you're not spiritually connected you will follow their advice and in the end fall short of purpose in life.
The Spirit of Pharaoh put slave masters over your life (vv. 11-12). The slave masters could be physical and/or spiritual. They give orders as if they are your creator. They brag and threaten you just to succumb to their wishes. They put you under perpetual fear and bondage just to place limitations upon your life. May such power not succeed over your life in Jesus' name.
Grieved and embittered because of you (v. 12b). Spirit of Pharaoh is just embittered without cogent reason. As long as you are alive and living fine, they will be bittered. Such a person may even be laughing with you but inside he's embittered. May the Lord expose such people in your life in Jesus' name.
Inflict one with hard labour (v 13). The Spirit of Pharaoh is happy when you are working like an elephant and eating like ants. They make sure your income is small compared to your investment. When you keep complaining about hard times, the Spirit of Pharaoh is happy. They want to see you perpetually sad and not seeing good things in life again.
Inflict with bitterness.
The Spirit of Pharaoh wants to kill in infancy (vv.15-16). Pharaoh commanded the midwives to kill children that are boys at the point of delivery. Imagine if those women didn't fear God, a lot of destiny would have been wasted. The women risked their lives and God gave them a house of their own. Several nurses and doctors have partnered with the spirit of Pharaoh to kill young ones. May my Father expose and disgrace them speedily in Jesus' name.
Look for every and any opportunity to get you down (v. 22). Standing tall among your peers is a threat to the spirit of Pharaoh. He will go all out to get you down either by lying against you or cooking up fake stories just to discredit your integrity among people who want to help you.
The Spirit of Pharaoh will not let you go (Exodus 5:2). This spirit is fighting tooth and nail to tie down it is victims. He will use all arsenals to delay moving to the next level. God said the Israelites would stay in Egypt for four hundred years but unfortunately, they stayed an extra thirty years, what a wasted year!
Are there people who are angry because of your enlargement? Are there people pursuing you and want you dead? Are there authorities that want to get you down? Do you see yourself fighting against a strongman now and then in your dreams? Are you working in a place where your spirit is out but each time you make a move to leave, they cajole you to stay by adding a token to your salary? Then you need to deal with the Spirit of Pharaoh.

You slave master assigned to torture me let thunder strike him to death in Jesus' name.
Powers that want to kill me, die in Jesus' name
Powers that kill good things at infancy in my life, your time is up, die in Jesus' name
The Spirit of Pharaoh says l will not go, you are a liar, l receive my freedom in Jesus' name.
