Today’s Reading:
2nd Kings 5:25 – 27
“But he went in and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gehazi? And he said, Thy servant went no whither. And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and olive yards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants? The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and thy seed forever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.”

The above account in 2nd Kings 5:25 – 27 talks about the curse placed on Gehazi, the servant of Elisha, who went to collect gifts from the Syrian General, Naaman. The whole story can be found in the book of 2nd Kings 5.
This is an example of a curse that can be described as malignant.
What is Malignant: Something that is evil
Something very infectious
Something uncontrollable
Something very dangerous, deadly and fatal
Something life-threatening
Something terminal and incurable
What is a curse: a) Expression of a wish that misfortune, evil or downfall befall a person.
b) An evil that has been invoked upon a person
c) To invoke a supernatural power for harm to come to somebody.
Malignant Curses:
Malignant curses, therefore, are curses that are deep and running for generations.
They are stubborn and difficult to break
They are not impressed with your being a Christian.
They will cling to a person through any doorway of sin.
They are ancestral.
The person under a malignant curse may be aware, but applying the wrong prescription.
They are often disguised in other forms (cryptic).
Like cancer, they spread to other members of the family and generations down the line.
Like the scripture above, there is someone somewhere in the world right now who is leprous, and is a descendant of Gehazi. The person may not be aware, and adducing the wrong reasons for his or her leprosy, and at the same time applying the wrong prescription.
Signs that Malignant Curses are in place:
Persistent and recurring poverty.
Problems that seem to defy prayers.
Recurring illness leading to death.
Persistent evil family patterns like late marriages, marital instability running down generations, frequent divorces and so on.
The crying blood. This occurs where innocent blood has been shed, and is crying against the land. For example, unsolved murders for which no one has been brought to justice. 2nd Samuel 21.
Lukewarm Christianity.
What do we need to do to break the curse?
Give your life to Jesus.
Bring quality repentance before God. (Galatians 3:13-14)
Fasting and prayers (Matthew 17:21.)
Live a life of holiness (1st Peter 1:15-16)
VICTOR ABASSAH
To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and meet the resident reverend, pastor or priest.
Prayers:
Ask the Lord to forgive you of any sin you have committed, and surrender your life to Him
