COUNSEL OF ELDERS

Today's Reading:

Psalm 37:1-17; Ruth 1:1-18; Philemon 1-25

A good elder must seek better future for the generation coming behind. No good elder or leader would want his or her ill-luck to be repeated in the life of the people coming behind. To escape the danger ahead of the people, Jesus Christ came to guide and instruct the people so as to be focused on eternity as he knows better than the people. He never wants evil of this world to come upon them, he never wants them to end up in the world of fire and darkness. He went ahead to clear the way for his people as he wants them to follow him undoubtedly. He warns his people of so many distractions that slip people away from the track.

Subsequently, there are unnumbered people who would want their fellow brethren to have the same bad experiences as they had – forgetting or not knowing that God allowed them to have such experiences in order to rescue people coming after them from having such ill-experiences. The experiences gather today are the solution of tomorrow’s problems. It is expected of a good elder or people who have gone ahead to use their knowledge acquired to bring better life to this present world – as experiences are powerful than human wisdom. Many youth or people would have strayed away, they would have ended up in calamity but service rendered by some godly people saved them from falling into dungeon. Therefore, children of God should take positive impart in the lives of the people around them as the future reveals what is done today.
