COMPASSION ON THE IGNORANT

Today’s Reading:

Hebrews 4:14- 5:9 (5:2)

"Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity." (5:2)

Ignoramus, that is what we are. For we have all gone astray, as sheep without shepherd.

  • Our assumed knowledge was what made our first Parents fell into Sin, the impact of which is still with us now. (Gen.3:1-7)

  • Our assumed knowledge was what caused the Babel fall-out. Gen. (11:9)

  • Our assumed knowledge made the Lord to repent that He made man on the earth. (Gen.6:6)

  • Our assumed knowledge made many to perish in the time of Noah. Gen. (7:23)

  • Our assumed knowledge made the Israelites to wander in the wilderness for 40 years instead of 40 days.

Examples abound. We thank God because He saw our helplessness. For "we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags. (Isaiah 64:6). For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Rom. 3:23).

Our Presumptuous assumption of knowledge has made man and humanity to fall deep into destruction and Satan is incredibly happy about that. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his ONLY begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16). Jesus Christ did not come to judge or condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away and did not stir up all his wrath. (Psalm 78:38). The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. (Psalm 145:8). Many times, in the Bible, Lord Jesus was always "moved with compassion ". Check out these passages: Matthew 9:36; Matthew 14:14; Matthew 18:27; Mark 1:41; Mark 6:34.

Where would we have been without Jesus?

Do not let his compassion be in vain over your life. He loves and care for you. Jesus is the Bread of life. (John 6:48). He is the Vine and we are the branches. (John15:5). If you do not abide in him, you wither and perish. BUT you shall not perish in Jesus name, therefore be wise and make him your Lord.

God bless.
