Luke 5:33-39

We want God to fit into our plans instead of allowing His plans shape us. When we try to fit God into our plans, it is like pouring new wine into old wineskins or patching a new piece of cloth onto an old shirt. The result is always unpleasant. When you allow God shape your plans, you are admitting that your ideas of life are inferior to His. You are also admitting that you need guidance in life and you desire to go along with the dictates of divine providence. When God's plans take precedence over yours, you have chosen to trust Him completely and not rely on your own limited understanding.
Besides trust, for God’s plan to take full effect in your life, you have to:
Commit your life to Him.
Turn away from evil and do good.
Rely on God in prayer and good works.
Be just in the way you treat others.
And repent as soon as you fall from grace.
God wants to shape every aspect of your life:
Your spirituality — Draw inspiration to love God and others from the Scriptures and the Sacraments.
Your relationships — Honour God in the kind of friends and company you keep.
Your vocation — Let God inspire how you minister to people with the gifts He has given you.
Your speech and actions — Let your words and actions be inspired by love and kindness.
Your choices and future plans —Make your plans after carefully praying about them and consulting with your spiritual director.
Your Career/Business —Do not act purely from profit but offer people only what is good and wholesome.
God desires the very best for you and wants to lift you to the top in your choices and desires for holiness, happiness and salvation. He will honour you the more you allow Him plan for you.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and report to the resident reverend, pastor or priest.
Prayer:
Lord, I trust in You.
Lord, help me to do good to others daily.
Lord, let me find my delight in doing Your will.
Lord, I commit my life to You.
Lord, help me to be there for my friends and family.
Lord, be my stronghold in time of distress.
Lord, help me find my fulfilment in serving You. Amen.
May God put a smile on your face and joy in your heart with these words. God's will and desire for your life is joy, peace, fruitfulness and eternal salvation. Everything else is ‘jara’ (toppings). He will give you more than you dare to ask for, through Christ our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
