Where are all my change-makers? Today’s piece should inspire you. Those who change the world are not the ones who do great things. They are those who do what lies in their power and submit everything else to God. The virtue responsible for this is called “humility”. You are only a human being and there is a limit to what you can do for yourself and others. But if you do what lies in your power, while relying on the grace of God, you will change the world. Saint Francis puts it well when he says, “Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”
Here are six things you can do today that will make a difference in your life and the world:
Pray to God about everything: Never underestimate the power of going down on Your knees and speaking to your Heavenly Father. Speak to Him about your joys, your sorrows, your hopes, your fears, your addictions and the things you do not understand—mention them all to Him because He listens.
Accept that you do not have all the answers and you will never go astray—the one who knows it all will soon land in trouble because he has no one to correct him.
Run away from the devil and his demons —run away from sin and from anyone who leads you to believe that evil is good. They are looking for your ruin and destruction (flee!).
Boast about your relationship with God (not your relationship with people). Your plugs and connections will fail you since they are imperfect, but God will always have you covered. Proverbs 21:1 says, “The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.”
Know your mission and work along with it —Your mission on earth is to make God known and loved. Serve wherever God has called you to serve and do it excellently. Serving any other ambition (even personal ones) will end up in misery.
Look out for those who are poor and defenceless —Your life and message should empower those who are marginalized and voiceless. To do this in whatever way you can is to serve God. And He will surely reward you.
"For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:24

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”
If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and report to the resident reverend, pastor or priest.
Prayer:
Lord, I am nothing, but a vessel and you are the true goodness that gives me value. Use me for your mighty works.
Shield me from evil people and influences. Let your purpose for my life be fulfilled and never let me be led astray. Amen.
I place myself in your hands. Never let me play into the hands of evil by my words, thoughts and actions. Let all that I do today be pleasing to you and edifying to others. Amen.
