Today’s Reading:
Psalm 99
The Book of Psalms was carefully collated from different authors. About half (75) of the book of Psalms is said to be David’s (a shepherd, musician, warrior and king), 12 was written by Asaph, a priest who headed the service of music, 10 by the sons of Korah, 2 by Solomon, 1 by Moses, 1 by Heman a wise man, 1 by Etham, and the remaining 50 are anonymous, while some of them were traditionally attributed to Ezra.
The scripture for consideration is one of those said to be anonymous, though no one knows the man who penned the Psalm but God knows him because 2 Timothy 3:16 says, “All scripture is given by the inspiration if God”, but you need to keep your heart with all diligence…” (Prov.4:23) so that the Lord may rule and reign over all we do.
David, a man after God’s heart, derived the description from his total dependence on God’s leading through every battle he won and not withstanding those wrote one, but both were mighty in God’s hand. God chooses his servant out of those who surrender themselves for his use and he then decides what to use you for.
“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.” (2 Timothy 2:20-21).
As he has used men of old, He is still in the business till date. Are you willing? Are you ready?
“For the Lord, thy God is with thee withersoever thou goest” Joshua 1:9c
