BE A TRUE DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST

Today's Reading:

John 17:6-19

Jesus prays for His disciples while He was with them in the world. Beloved, we are the present-day disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ and are expected to act as such anywhere we appear. A disciple is anyone who learns under a master with the intent to carry out the job he or she is learning while the master is around or gone. A disciple is a man or woman who is a follower of a master, that understudies a vocation from his master Jesus Christ was full of praises to God for those disciples He gave to Him and commend them to the His (God) hand, with the exception of one who according to Jesus was the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled According to the word of God in Acts1vs15-17, after the fulfilment of the scripture concerning Judas Iscariot, his position became vacant, and he was replaced by Matthias after prayers and lot was cast.

What happened to Judas Iscariot is a demonstration of the consequences of inconsistencies with God. No Wonder in Psalm 1vs1, The Bible admonishes us not walk in the counsel of the ungodly nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful. As disciples of Jesus, anywhere we are seen, we need to manifest Christ-like attitudes. Judas Iscariot was a man given to covetousness, stealing, mixing with the scornful and the walking in the counsel of the ungodly so much that he had to sell Jesus Christ for thirty shekels of silver, to those that crucified Him.

Conclusively, we need to operate our faith in God, as the just shall live by faith. (1John5vs9-13), admonishes us that our faith in God should be greater than our faith in men. Once we believe in Jesus His only begotten son, our faith will be increased, then we will have no confidence in the world affairs that can derail us from focusing on our God. We should not follow as disciples absentmindedly as Judas Iscariot who got himself entangled in the things of the world and eventually missed the reward of discipleship.
