Today's Reading:
Acts 6:1-7
Mark10:43
"But so, shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:"
(Mark 10:43)

A minister is a servant, messenger, or service person who tends to the needs of those under him or whom he/ she is appointed/elected to serve. This issue of servanthood, cuts across the whole strata of our lives, both in the house of God and in the public.
The disciples of Jesus Christ decided to appoint people who are responsible ( seven of them) in Acts 6vs1-7 and those that they chose did excellently well and demonstrated the virtues of stewardship. But the reverse is the case nowadays. This is the era where leaders do not want to serve, rather they want to be served both in the house of God and in the public place. They want to be noticed, respected, worshipped, corner what is meant for the good of the people under them, engage in all forms of abominable things and so on. All these dastardly acts are outside the virtues of servant leadership. Jesus Christ our saviour demonstrated it by attending to the needs of His disciples and even washing their feet.
Therefore, in whatever position we find ourselves let us demonstrate the virtues of servant leader to please God and be able to make good disciples of the people.
ABIODUN GEORGE
Prayer:
Virtues for servant leadership fall upon me now in the name of Jesus.
Oh God arise minister to me, to minister to your people in the name of Jesus.
I shall be a good example and not a bad example in the name of Jesus.
Oh God arise, let your unity triumph among brethren in the name of Jesus.
The power of God overshadows Christian homes in the name of Jesus.
