ARE YOU OUT OF GOD'S SIGHT?

Today’s Reading:

Jonah 2: 1-10

"Then I said, I am cast 0ut of thy sight, yet I will look again toward thy holy temple." (v. 4)

We all know the story of Jonah. We have read it growing up. Songs have been formed out of it. We refer to it. We have used it to preach severally. But are we not all like Jonah? Are we better than him? Our behaviour, our action towards God's law and commandments. The disobedience of God's Words. Like Jonah, is there a price worth getting out of the presence or will of God? I tell you, there is no satisfaction, no protection, no peace outside of His will. Leaving God's presence always makes us go down into a backsliding condition. A condition is most pleasing to Satan. Are you out of God's sight? We are so wrapped up in our self-centeredness, our selfishness, our egoistic nature. Like Jonah, we are saved for a purpose, but we do not want others to be saved. We are doing so little to bring sinners to the marvellous light of God. For by grace are we saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8). For we have all sinned and come short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23).

Many are indifferent about God's concern not to want any to perish. Our actions, day to day activities, deeds etc are taking us out of God's sight. The period we are in now is dangerous, perilous times, we are eagerly waiting for the Lord's coming. We need to allow God to use us as His end-time soldier to win souls back into His glorious kingdom. We should be a battle axe in God's hand. We should strive to spread the Gospel. We should cry out to God Almighty to help us for we have no power of our own.

Let us find our way back to God. Go to him as you are. Like that songwriter says, "Just as I am, without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me..." God bless you as you find your way back to him. Jesus is the answer, He is the way, the truth, and the life. Amen.
