Today’s Readings:
Psalm 14
“Only fools think there is no God. People like that are evil and do terrible things. They never do what is right.” (v. 1)
Man was created to live a life of dominion, but he lost his authority after the great fall in Genesis 3. Since then, man has been wallowing in sin. Sin becomes the disease of mankind and it appears to be epidemic. Man neglects, refuses and abandons God. The highest form of idolatry is when an individual deny the reality or existence of God, such a person is defined in the scripture as a fool. They put their hope and trust in some other things apart from the Supreme Being. They daily run after perishable and temporary things. According to Psalm 14 verse 1, and 3, sin put contempt upon the honour of God and made man seek the fulfilment and satisfaction of flesh and thus limit the fear of God.
Sin becomes epidemic by infecting the whole race of mankind "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God";. Therefore, (vs. 4 & 5) is a reminder to the evildoers of their wickedness, folly act and the danger ahead of them BUT a grace is made available for those that can come in union with Christ, they shall have the presence of God (vs. 5) and God's protection will be available for them.
God has brought us Salvation that can't be found in man or things that perishes but through His only Son Jesus Christ and He alone is our entrance to life Eternal and endless joy. Have you encountered Jesus? If yes glory to God. If no, go on our knees now and say this simple prayer: Lord Jesus, I realise that I am a sinner that needs a saviour; I confess my sins, forgive me and write my name in the book of life, in Jesus name I pray.
