Today’s Reading:
John 4:7-9

John 4: 7-9 7 - A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. 9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.
In the Bible passage above, God demonstrates His own kind of love towards each one of us. The way Christ showed love (acceptance) for this simple Samaritan woman demonstrates to us (Romans 5: 8B - in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.) in that while we were yet sinners and dead in our trespasses and sin… with no hope in the world, Christ died for us. He had loved us to the point of seeking us out for mercy. He laid aside His glory for each one of us and was born in the likeness of human flesh, so that He could seek and also save that which was lost. This a matter of drawing up this woman out of rejection; destruction and hopelessness upon the rock; giving her a new lease of life. The woman went alone to the well so that she would probably not be seen by those who would deride her for her lifestyle. Despite her lifestyle, and the fact that she was a Samaritan, Jesus engaged her in a conversation. He revealed whom she was to her and healed her. This is revealing the way picked us from our filth, saved us and gave us His righteousness. The uniting of Christ's humanity with eternal Deity was so that He could come and search us out and offer each of us His living water - for whoever drinks of the water that Christ offers shall never thirst; but that water will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life (John 4: 14).
Some people still discriminate and would not show love or acceptance to people because of cultural reference, hatred, or even ignorance. That is neither the example nor the command Christ gave us; love God and love your neighbour as yourself (Mark 12: 30-31). When we love, all other faults or vices are overlooked (1Corinthians 13: 4-7). The whole essence of Christianity is love. If you do not have love in your heart, you do not have Him in you, because God is love (1 John 4:8). After this woman got the living water, she went back to the city to tell all the men; probably those who had taken advantage of her situation (Mark 12: 28-29) that she had an encounter with the One who knew everything about her. As a result of the acceptance (love) Jesus showed to her instead of rejection there was a revival in her city - Mark 4: 39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.” Brethren, it does not matter how filthy you are, Jesus has come to seek you, to accept you with a “hug” and give you a new beginning. If you are in doubt, try Him today and you will experience something new. If you are yet connected to Him, connect now - (Revelation 3: 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and he with Me.) Hallelujah!!!
