Today’s Readings:
Psalm 139:1-6, 13-18; Jeremiah 17:14-27; Matthew 10:34-42

The Lord has always spoken and instructed from the inception of the world. No wonder Adam and Eve were given instructions in the garden of Eden on how to live and relate with everything in the garden. God went as far as instructing Adam to name all the animals in the garden, he also named Eve and so on.
Everything in the world we live in today is based on instructions going from the simplest things to the most complicated have a manual guide for us to follow if we want to maximize their usage. There are instruction guides/manuals for the use of our devises, remote control, cars, refrigerator and so on. God in the same vain wants us to always remember his instructions to us in order to maximize our destinies on earth, Psalm 139:1-7 tells us that God has searched us, as our creator He knows us and what is best for every one of us. He understands what works for every being He has created, He knows our every thoughts and we can never run away from His spirit; hence we should never take His instructions for granted.
God knows those who are against you and He knows how to take care of them and you. Just like when God instructed Jeremiah to go and stand in the gate of Jerusalem (Jer 17:14-27), He is still instructing believers today through His word, prophets, pastors, neighbours, parents and so on, to follow Him and stick to Him to till the end (Matt 10:34-42).
The instructions of the Lord are meant -
To guide and mould us into the image of His son Jesus Christ (2 Cor 3:18).
To bring us back to the right track when we are falling short of the ways of the Lord ( 2 Tim 3:16-17).
To make sure we don't loose out on the promises the Lord has given to His children (Deut 5)
To help us know the difference between what's wrong and what's right.
The instructions of the Lord are not meant
To punish us.
To make life difficult and unbearable for us.
To be abused in order to favour our selfish desires.
To be used as a tool of coercion or manipulation of others.
Cause division and unnecessary arguments between biblical scholars as to who knows better or who hears better from God.
