Genesis 6:5-22
“Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him” (v. 22)
One thing that does not change about God is His character. His love, judgement, holiness and all his attributes are not affected by time and space. And for every generation, God has expectations. It is a pity that most generations have failed God yet He's always looking for a man in every generation to carry out His commands to the letter.
During the time of Noah, the earth was full of violence and corruption. It pained God to the heart that he had created man in His own image, and he decided to destroy mankind from the face of the earth. That was God's verdict, destruction! But God needed to spare some people so that mankind can continue. What a merciful God! And Noah found grace in God's sight. He found grace because he was blameless and righteous. Do you want to enjoy God's grace more? Be righteous and holy too.
God asked Noah to do the impossible, to build the ark because the rain would fall. That was incredible because there was never rain. Noah could question God and tell God it is not possible, but the scriptures say, he obeyed and did all that God commanded him. Please underline all, Noah did not do part of what God asked him rather he did all. If there is any level of obedience God is expecting from His children, it is total and absolute obedience. Folks, what is it God asked you to do? You cannot please Him if what you are doing is not in perfect agreement with his commands. Partial obedience is the same as disobedience. Your total obedience is rewarding. Could it be that what you are passing through now is due to partial obedience? Why not repent and do all that's in the mind of God so that you can experience his blessings in full.
