ABOUNDING IN HOPE

Today’s Reading:

ROMANS 15: 7-13

"Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost". (v. 13)

The Scripture above is for us believers in Christ, it is our life saver. It's what we should hold on tight to, with all the craziness going on in the World. Our very hope is being shaken to the roots. A lot is going on in the house of God that makes one, want to question our faith. Many are falling away because they feel there is no hope, there is no more Love among the brethren, there is no more trust among the believers. The devil is giving the believers knock out and all seems hopeless.

Right in the house of God, there is deception, there is mistrust, there is fear, there is worldliness, there is malice, there is back biting, there is doubt. Leaders are failing followers. Jesus has been relegated to the back of every action. Nonetheless, the Words of God stands sure. Jesus is the hope of the hopeless. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. Our faith should look up on the lamb of calvary. We should not be distracted by all that is happening around us, we should not be distracted by all that is happening in the church. Jesus is our perfect example. He is our hope. We are to abound in hope. We are to abound in love. His filling us up through the power of the Holy Ghost, is to make us light and salt to the world. We are to show love in the midst of anger, fear, failure, frustration going on even in the house of God. Our love should bring unbelievers to God's kingdom, not to drive them away.

Let us examine ourselves. How can we be vessels of honour for Master's use? How can Jesus, the hope of the hopeless in this hopeless world reach out through us to the perishing that have no hope? Of course, without doubt, we are on the battle field, Jesus Christ is our commander, we are to focus on him, we are to be obedient to his commandments, we should always remember that he is the one we should always focus on, no other way.

However, if you have not made Jesus your Lord, you cannot abound in hope. Say a simple prayer of faith, confess your sins and make him your Lord.

God bless.
