A POWERFUL WEAPON TO VICTORY

Today’s Reading:

Psalm 55:16-23

“As for me, I will call upon God, and the LORD shall save me. Evening and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: And he shall hear my voice.” (Psalm 55:16-17)

The writer of Psalm 55 is ascribed to David. The first verse of the chapter mentioned the writer’s prayer to God. David was surrounded by his enemies. He knows the way out of his battle is to cry out to God in prayer. In verse16 he said, ‘as for me, I will call upon God, and the LORD shall save me.’ David calling upon God in prayer gives him assurance of deliverance from his enemies. Verse 17 says, ‘evening and morning, and at noon, will I pray…’ David never ceased in prayer, he prayed every time and season, and he was delivered by God.

Every Christian should know that when challenges and trials come our way, we should cry unto God as David did. When we cry unto God in prayer, He will save us. In Romans 12:12, the Bible says, ‘rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.’ As David calls upon God in the evening, morning, and noon, we should cry unto God in prayer at all times when we are faced by our enemies: and he will hear our voice. Let us cast our burdens unto the LORD in prayer and He will sustain us: he will never suffer us to be moved.

Prayer point:

  1. LORD, give me the spirit of prayer that I may pray unto you, in Jesus name.

  2. Help me, O Lord, whenever I cast my burden unto you in prayer, in Jesus name.

  3. Lord do not let my prayer be hindered, in the name of Jesus.

  4. Father, input the engine of prayer in me and teach me how to pray, in Jesus name.

  5. Every arrow of the enemy that has been shot in my life for me to be weak in prayer, I command you to come out of my body, in name of Jesus.
