You will find yourself in many uncomfortable situations. So, waiting for the perfect time and moment to experience and relate to God and submit to Him, may not always present itself. Ezekiel encountered the divine majesty of God in exile. And words failed him when he attempted to relate what He saw (Ezekiel 1:2-5,24-28). No matter where you are, God is always in control and His divine power exceeds any bad situation.

In the Gospel, Jesus predicts His death and Simon Peter is taxed by the Temple officials. Some news will threaten your composure and some people will try to knock you off your squeeze, but you must always fix your gaze on Jesus and enjoy every moment as though it were your last (Matthew 17:22-27). Also, we do not need to bother ourselves with the world and its ways; we are in the world, but we are not part of it. God will always provide for our needs despite pervading difficulties.

Here are ten lessons uncomfortable situations can teach you:

  • God reveals Himself even in the ugliest situations.

  • God will always be there when you need Him.

  • Do not lose the divine power present in you to sin.

  • Evil is powerless in the presence of God and it will never have the final say over your life.

  • You are called to divine worship and relationship with God despite the challenges you face.

  • Never compromise with evil or do evil to achieve something God (the end does not justify the means).

  • Continually praise God despite the challenges you have all around you.

  • Submit to the divine will. God knows what He is doing. God will use the hardships, injustice, pain and loss in your life to turn things around in your favour.

  • Depends on God always. Do not be swayed by people who think they have control over the economy or your earning power.

  • Know your mission and own it: You are in the world but not a part of it. You are here to change the world from within, like a soul in a body, like salt in food, like light in the darkness.

To surrender your life to Christ, say this prayer aloud. “Father, I acknowledge my sin against You. I repent and ask for forgiveness, in the name of Jesus. I surrender to the Lordship of Jesus. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, take control of my heart and lead me in Your path of righteousness. Thank you, Lord.”

If you said the prayer, Congratulations! Prayerfully look for a living church and report to the resident reverend, pastor or priest.
